Men's First Team: Good Form or Good Luck?

Is the undefeated run of the Men's First Team a result of good form or good luck? It's the question being asked of the Oakleigh Havoc side after two very different victories over the past fortnight. The players seem convinced that their recent performances are a result of consistency and good form, while outsiders may believe the team have been lucky to grab maximum points from their two games. The side, though, hope to cast aside any doubt about their performances with another strong outing this Thursday night.

Thrsday night will prove to be a tricky test for Oakleigh Havoc. With a similar result against Brothers United, Havoc's upcoming opponent, Santos, looks an even match on paper. Santos will be determined to grab a win after a 14-6 loss last week to league leaders 1966. It will be interesting to see if Oakleigh's opponents will look to control the game through possession or sit back, defend and opt to counter attack.

Oakleigh Havoc will look to continue their perfect winning record. Top scorers Jonah Caruana and Jake Winn are in top form heading into the next match, scoring a combined total of 9 goals over the last two games. After a shaky victory in Week 2, Havoc's first team will be hoping to replicate their Week 1 performance and transition smoothly from defence to attack.

Navyna Srivastava is expected to make his debut for the first team after an impressive outing in a pre-season friendly match last week. Sam Rogers, however, remains an uncertainty as he continues to recover from a quadricep injury while Justin D'Souza will be unavailable for selection.

Oakleigh Havoc will be determined to prove that good form, not good luck, is rewarded with three points. They take on Santos at South Oakleigh College at 7:00pm on Thursday night.
