Oakleigh Havoc were punished severely for a poor start to their Round 17 match against Hackers. Only needing a draw to confirm a top four finish to the season, Havoc struggled defensively against their 5th-placed opponents.

Goals from J. Winn (assisted by G. Bezas) and J. Tamvakis (assisted by M. Watkins) were not enough to overcome the errors at the back as Oakleigh conceded 7 in the first half.

A brilliant solo-run from G. Bezas added a third to Havoc's tally. Hackers, however, proved too much to handle by adding another three goals to finish comfortably with a 10-3 victory.

The men's team will need to find their form quickly with their next two games against the division's top two teams and only an 8 point difference between Hackers (5th) and Havoc (3rd) with three games remaining in the regular season.
