Welcome to The Overview. A monthly update of the club's teams and competitions.
Early in March, the club established a men’s social team to compete at Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) in League One (Division 3) on Tuesday Nights.
Playing Squad
With a majority of the playing group retained from the previous season at Box Hill, the club has welcomed new arrivals Avi and Fabian to strengthen the team.
Avi comes to the club as an exciting attacking talent, with previous stints as a player and coach for Melbourne High School football teams. Fabian, meanwhile, comes in as a defender with a wealth of experience from various futsal and football teams.
Results
This month, the team played their first games of the season: two grading matches and round 1 of the regular season.
Despite suffering a heavy defeat in their opening grading round to Rossly’s XI, the team displayed promising signs in their tactical approaches in the week that followed, narrowly missing out on a comeback against FOB 3.0.
A return match against Rossly’s XI in Round 1 once again saw improvement from the team with noticeable strength in quick passing moves.
While the team end the month without a victory, the club are confident that the team can grab its first points of the season in April with their impressive progress on the court over the three matches.
